Halo of Trout 2: Stroke My Poodle

Halo of Trout is very much a contemporary project, though some tracks have been included from the early Noughties. Cowboy [2007] is a reference to all the clowns on the planet. There are plenty of them. It’s about a composite person. Interestingly, U2’s team always considered Eno the Englishman on a white steed. Bizarre.

Jung Drudes [2004] is a remake and 20th year celebration of our 1st single. The title is an affectionate homage to the unique Julian Cope.

Bolan wanted to call his follow-up to Dandy either Dangerous Dipstick or Mental Excavavtion. Who could resist such a title?
12 minutes of guitar mayhem here, with plenty of Bolanic-type chaos. This is cacophony at its best. Awesome performance.

Stroke My Poodle (The Whisker Biscuit Blues) [2020]

Baghdad Will Be A Better Place (With Water) [2009] - a track with a jungle tinge, but a savage critique of political skullduggery, abuse of power, narcissism, religious fanaticism, lies and weapons of mass destruction (which, of course, do not exist), featuring cartoon versions of Bush and Blair no less! Can the 9 minutes of musical mayhem match the 9 minutes of jingoistic bullshit? You bet! Finished by the Fan Club recently, it presents a much darker side of their repertoire. Enjoy?

More late-night pleasure is provided by The Jeremy Brett Fanclub and their fantastic dance anthems.

Satie’s Faction [2020] is inspired by those classic house tracks. It bounces along for a good five minutes.

Running To The Space Age (Drillin’) [2020] has a chilled out techno feel, pulsating for cool 9 minutes. It’s the perfect 12” dance track. Watch out for these to appear on limited-edition vinyl sometime in the future.

A third track, Aversion To Mortgages, [2020] has a euphoric flavour and is a tad more laid-back. They decided it wasn’t really going anywhere and offered it to Batshit Fruitcake, who finished it and agreed with them!

What an outfit the JBFC are!

Kissing The Quim (Coum) [2019] is dedicated to Cosey Fanni Tutti & the pleasant ex-members of Throbbing Gristle. The less said of Porridge, the better.

Stranger Than Fixion [2019] is a frivolous jungle version of the original 1983 Waxworks track.

Dancin’ With Mr D [2009] is the Stones’ classic. This is a lengthy version with plenty of lead guitar.

On The Reservation is yet another remake of an early Waxworks tune. Lost count of how many versions of this there are lying around, which suggests it’s yet to be nailed.

Finally, Wild Woolly Windcote turned up at the sessions, unexpectedly, complete with his Horny Rams. I managed to get some rare images of him on my camera and a couple of songs to boot. Two were Xmas songs, for an EP he was considering. The EP was going to be called Moondog, dedicated to one of his idols. I even managed to get him to do a duet of one version. What a trooper!

Moondog, [2019] a blues tune about the Occult

I’ll Be Home For Xmas, [2019] a pleasant rendition of a classic

Have Yourself A Merry Little Xmas, [2019] another pleasant classic completely rendered!
