Faliraki Waterpark - Wave to mum
The Water park in Faliraki is huge – the biggest in Europe, allegedly. Spacious, on three levels, built into the hillside, with the cascading shoots at the top utilising the slopes and the wave-pool half-way down and all the toddler stuff at the bottom, near the restaurant.
Well-planned. No scrapping over inflatables here!
At the bottom is a giant water-bubble, the mushroom ride. Awesome. It is shaped like a giant half-orange with a shower at the top and water flooding all over to make it slippery.
There are ropes to assist you to get to the top but it's equally exciting to try without them.
It's a must!
We went there and some irritating structurally-challenged (fat) boy was annoying everyone by getting in the way and jumping about needlessly. Anyway he jumps up and lands heavily onto the bubble. His leg goes right through one of the areas near a join in the material – probably impossible to replicate, unless you're a dick!
He swings over and is left dangling upside down on the bubble.
Noone can resist ignoring him – he was in no pain, though, of course, he's wrecked the thing and we all have to evacuate so it can be repaired and aforementioned dick extricated from the rubber!
The big rides are awesome, though some have been altered a bit since we last went.
Enjoy!
