Lair of Daedalus

Nearly everyone goes to visit Knossos when they go to Crete, so I’ve not put many photos up here. You can scan them all over the web. It’s very impressive, though the rebooted buildings and daft interpretations of ancient life make a mockery of the site’s significance. Frescoes, anyone?

The photograph is of the ancient road out of Knossos. It’s remarkable that it’s in such good condition (and my Kodak snap!).

Below is a photo from 1977 of me on the small beach in Aghios Nikalaos, not far from Herakleion & Knossos.
