Chania has had a chequered past, reflected in the huge variety of architectural designs in its buildings. It’s fascinating just wandering around looking at the colourful display on offer. It’s a photographer’s dream. Shame I didn’t have a camera! They have left an open space where the bombs felled the buildings in WW2, as a reminder of the horrors inflicted on the harbour front. Many are now converted into fashionable boutique hotels and bars.
